Forces
There are three main parts of force. Force, Acceleration, and Mass. The real question is, how?
Example Problem:
A little boy pushes a wagon with his dog in it. The mass of the dog and wagon together is 45 kg. The wagon accelerates at 0.85 m/s2. What force is the boy pulling with?
Lets look at the GIVEN information: 0.85 m/s2, 45 kg
What exactly do you want to find? The force the boy is pulling at.
So, with the GIVEN information, you know that, kg= Mass, m/s2= Acceleration
With the table above, you place 45 kg (m) in the M spot.
Then, with the table above, you place .85 m/s2 (a) in the A spot.
You know that in order to get the force of the boy you multiply the Mass x the Acceleration
45 x .85= 38.25
Force is NET FORCE or Newtons, so, it is N.
Answer is, 38.25N.
Newton's Laws
Law 1: Objects at rest will stay at rest unless are moved by a force. Objects in motion remain at motion unless are acted upon by an unbalanced force
Law 2: Force= Mass times Acceleration
Law 3: Action/Reaction, Every action there is a equal or opposite reaction.
Trigonometry
SOH-CAH-TOA
Sin= Opposite/Hypotenuses Sin:O/H
Cos= Adjacent/Hypotenuses Cos: A/H
Tan= Opposite/Adjacent Tan: O/A
You know the side is Opposite when the leg of the triangle is touching the right angle only.
You know the side is Adjacent when the leg of the triangle is touching both the right angle and the theta.
You know the side is Hypotenuses when it is the longest out of the sides.
The concepts of Physics are very important because these we will have to bring out to collage. Not only collage, but will help us out on a project we will do after winter break, we will programming drones. What I have learned from all of these concepts of physics is that all of these connect in someway. One step at a time though, we managed to get everything down. To learning about Issac Newtons fascinating yet lonely life, to the SOH-CAH-TOA song we have used to memorize the basics of trigonometry, to our physics teacher using an apple to show us the properties of forces. All of these have taught me something knew, I even got to learn a new button on the calculator I have always wondered about.
I am most proud of myself learning all these subjects and able to do them with a full understanding. I am able to help anyone in need like I did many times before. That is why I believe I've used Compassion throughout this project the most because I have compassion when it comes to seeing people struggle. The reason why we need this kind of physics for our drone project is because you need the direction and the speed calculated. It is vital to know the most easiest way to get there. Drones need a programming that is correctly programmed, not one that will mess up the directions. You need a successful drone, that is our main goal for next exhibition.
