This exhibition was well done. I will remember the amazing backdrop that added some good kind of seriousness to the podcast that was playing in the background. We pleased the crowd by telling them about proposition 57. I felt like they never knew a proposition that is aiming to reduce prison overcrowding in a way that we imagined it to be. In a non-violent, non-sexual, non-serious kind of way. If I could do this again I would try to get better audio quality. That is my top 'would do again'. On the flip side we didn't get any feedback, instead we got questions. In the end I learned that sometimes you got to work with what you have. Even if your teammates are goof balls try to make it work. See the best in people because each person has a expertise. I had a great time knowing new people I didn't even knew who existed.

IntroductionPropositions are on this years ballot! Change will happen in California because of these propositions. Did I ever know what a prop. was before this project? Nope. I had no idea what they were. How could I have not known? Surprisingly, not much people do. We decided to make podcasts to help others before they vote. This deepened my understanding in the fact that I knew how California will change. The Pro's and Con's about each one. If one of them passes, at least I am informed and not lost.

Coming up with a Podcast for our PropositionKnowing that we got Proposition 57 we had to come up with three different aspects with a voltron squad.

One thing about Proposition 57 that surprised the heck out out of us and had us with burning questions is... -Why is rape and human trafficking even considered a non-violent in the first place? -Was it purposely added on the ballot or was a loophole? -What does the public thinks about this being apart of the proposition. Right away we had those questions but it was hard to put them into words. So, we asked our teacher, Dr.P, for help. We asked him how exactly do we put our wondering into words. That's when these questions came to life and so did our podcast pitch. |
Our Podcast Pitch

An Interview with WilliamA tape log are marks of certain points that was the best parts of the interview with William. Above is is the interview map of questions for William who opposed proposition 57.

Pitch into PodcastThis blooming idea of script idea was the reason we were able to come up with an actual script. This is my writing and most of them was my ideas:). My group was very lost at the moment, so I drew this to lighten their path and motivation.
This happened after we collected the interview of William William is someone we found after searching websites for our podcast. He is no on proposition 57. We used a headphone speaker to record his voice on the phone. We had the office to get a bit of quietness from the noisy school. The best part of the interview was when he said proposition 57 was the wrong approach to ending prison overcrowding. This is an argument that stood out the most to me. It had me leaning towards both sides and had me questioning more and more. |
Script Outline vs. Script
This is version 1.0 after planning the script map on the white board above. We first started by adding bullet points of main ideas then the bullet points became descriptive with time. Since I came up with the idea of the script, I added all the main ideas and added most of the description below the main ideas.

After writing a sense of what our script is going to be. We started to write the exact script in order for us to record for our podcast. Then
we added video clip links of interviews and opinions of proposition 57 to add to our podcast. We kept some of the ideas in version 1.0 but revised it based on the critique we received. |
This is us recording the script for the podcast. We had to find a quiet room in the school (which was incredibly hard when your in a high school) and record until we were happy with the recording. Scene after scene, we finally had all six scenes recorded as we liked it. It was super frustrating and time consuming. It was hard to have quiet places in a small school. Everything was occupied and we had no were to record at times. I helped with everything. I helped with editing, writing, recording, taking pictures, I was basically the foundation that kept our group moving. Even after the struggles I developed a bond with my group mates. They always knew who to make me laugh. They were enjoyable people to be around when I was down. They drove me crazy, but I always couldn't stay mad forever. I understood their strengths and weaknesses like any other leader would. I had fun getting to know each personality of my team mates. Those moments were my golden moments. The ones I will never forget,
Balboa Park field trip, our first time getting interviews for our podcast.
