The Absolutely True Story of a Part-Time Indian
What would Junior think about this situation?
Who would he give custody to?
Who would he give custody to?
Junior always thought that life on the Rez was tough. Though everyone in the Rez are like family, everyone knows you. If you leave it was like you stabbed them in the back. He left the Rez for a better life, he did it by going to school with white people.
"Okay, so maybe my white teammates had problems, serious problems, but none of their problems were life threatening." pg.(195)
This quote represents how he compares the life of himself to those he sees of others. How all the white kids have Ipods, cell phones, and all the latest technology.
"I knew that two or three of those Indians might have not eaten breakfast this morning. No food in the house. I knew that seven or eight of those Indians lived with drunken mothers and fathers." pg. (195)
He also states that each team member deals with a life threatening or mentally damaging problem in their lives. He came to Reardan for a better life. Just like Veronicas mother gave her away solely for a better life. Just as losing someone is as painful as it gets, I feel as though he will feel empathy towards the adoptive parents who grew a bond with the child they have lost the child they have been raising. Who has been loving the child as mom and dad. This is how Junior was raised, with a mom and dad.
In conclusion, I believe Junior would have given custody to the Capoblanco.
